Yup, you read that right, folks!

This morning, the Army Corps of Engineers announced that the key federal permit for the proposed Pebble mine would be DENIED. Read TU's press release here.

Everyone, please hear me when I say this happened BECAUSE OF YOU. We would not have moved this Administration to deny the permit if we didn't have anglers speaking up, time and time again, for Bristol Bay. Your dedication to this place, this effort, and conservation is something the TU Alaska team is incredibly grateful for. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Rest assured that while we are celebrating today, our work isn't done. TU's commitment to Bristol Bay has always been to obtain long-term, community-supported protections for the whole region. We don't want to fight Pebble next year, in five years, or in 50 years, and the only way we do that is making sure we have permanent protections in place. We hope you'll join us in celebration today, and join us in the next chapter safeguard Bristol Bay. Stay tuned, we will share the next place to plug in!

Thank you again, and wishing you all a safe Thanksgiving!
